Pro Series “box-like” cameras such as the ones you commonly see in banks for decades are seen less and less these days. Where you will find them most often is in situations where a specific purpose or area is to be monitored, since these Pro-Series cameras have more lens options allowing for short or long distances, and/or short or wide angles. Also these are mainly used inside housing enclosures. For example, if you have an outdoor setting where there are environmental concerns you will most likely enclose your camera inside a housing unit to control temperature. Inside this weatherproof housing unit will be a heater and blower. The camera mounts to a bracket inside this outdoor housing. The housing is not only used for purposes of environmental conditions but for vandal resistance. Obviously an exposed camera is susceptible to damage by being left in plain reach of a vandal.
